OLX was founded in 2006 by Fabrice Grinda and Alec Oxenford as an online classifieds platform. Grinda, an entrepreneur with a background in technology and marketplaces, and Oxenford, an experienced business leader, launched OLX to provide a simple, accessible way for people to buy and sell goods and services locally. Their vision was to create a global marketplace that would empower users by offering free classifieds and fostering community connections.
