The idea for N26 began as an app for parents to connect with prepaid cards for their teenagers. The founders, Valentin Stalf and Maximilian Tayenthal, began working on the idea in early 2013.
The company was initially named "Number 26". By 2014, the team realized they needed to pivot. Their vision was to build a company that would make banking more accessible for millions of people around the world.
N26 launched its first banking product in 2015. The company has since scaled rapidly and now serves more than 7 million customers in 25 countries. It has raised close to $1.8 billion from some of the world's most renowned investors.

Penta's mission is to disrupt business banking in Europe and beyond. It has a digital API banking platform that combines business banking and accounting.
The company was founded by Aleksandar Orlic, Igor Kuschnir, Jessica Holzbach, Lav Odorovic, Luka Ivicevic, Matteo Concas, and Sir Gabriel Holbach, and has raised over €62 million in funding.
It was acquired by Qonto, an online bank that provides financial tools for small and medium-sized businesses and freelancers.

Feather Insurance is a digital insurance company based in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 2018 by Rob Schumacher and Vincent Audoire.
Feather offers personalized, lifestyle-focused insurance advice. It also provides comprehensive, English-language support for sign-up and claim management.
The digital insurance platform processes make all interactions transparent, from closing to claiming and terminating. The company aims to relieve the burden of researching and purchasing insurance policies.
