Founded in July 2017 by Changpeng Zhao (CZ) and Yi He, Binance quickly became the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. Initially based in China, it moved operations to various crypto-friendly jurisdictions. Binance raised $15 million through an ICO, issuing its own token, Binance Coin (BNB), for discounted transaction fees and other uses.
The platform offers trading for over 500 cryptocurrencies, educational resources via Binance Academy, and supports blockchain startups through Binance Labs. Despite regulatory challenges, Binance has implemented strong compliance measures and remains committed to increasing financial accessibility and usability through blockchain technology.
